School/UNI

Looks like I'll be getting into University after all. I originally wanted to do art, but got into science instead. Doing a diploma in science, a Bachelor in science and Masters of secondary teaching. After those 4 years are finished I will do a bachelor in fine arts. It sounds like so much work to be done but ehhhhh.

Traveling down to Adelaide soon, to spend time with family because we just lost a member. Its proving difficult because of the timing, around christmas and new years.

Babblings on a dreary Sunday evening.

While concealing in the shadows of your bedroom after school comes to an end sounds like a good idea, I can ensure you it is not. Having disrupted a routine acquired over 14 years of schooling, many find it hard to adjust to a new pattern, much like myself. We have it ingrained into our minds from early on that we must follow a system; birth, childhood, school, adulthood, work, death. Many prefer not to talk about the latter as if it were irrelevant. What I can't seem to apprehend is the fact that after so many years of schooling nothing will come of it. Surely I will get a 'higher education' somewhere along the line, but that only accounts for some of the knowledge that I have come to understand. I don't understand why there must be so much pressure put on todays generation and the generations to come to live up to there predecessors. I want to discover the things I want to know about, not things someone thinks I should know about. To live life how I want to, but because of todays society nothing comes without a price anymore, so to do just some of the things I want to are impossible. So I sit in my room to my chagrin, wondering how it ever came to the point in my life where I stopped looking at reality and delved into a different place of being.

Drawing makes me happy

This is a portrait done entirely in charcoal and white pastel. Its is of the lovely Z. You can find them on through the link tentaclesandteacups. I have to keep practicing on portraits of people since I haven't been doing any lately. So this is number one.

yatta yatta

Gave in and started writing again. Mainly I write just personal stuff, the things that I'm uncomfortable writing online about with nosy prying eyes. I find its so relieving to be able to vent to something without anyone actually knowing. I like the secrecy, the mysterious of writing something no body will ever see until someone stumbles upon it, or you stumblr upon it yourself. Somewhat like a time capsule in a way. Expressing more about a moment that any photograph ever could.

Appart from that I'm going more in depth with trying to get myself to learn French and Japanese. I found some really helpful books that I will buy once I come upon some money, I don't see myself undertaking any courses though, I think it will just aggravate me and make me emotional. I like learning on my own, its the only method that I can actually learn.

I have some pictures to upload on here soon...

Making things

I was watching Lord Of The Rings with my sister and I guess this kind of inspired this. I have wished ever since I was little that I could be a elf  (Plan to get my ears pointed in the future) . This is basically a prototype that I made in 10 mins out of thing aluminum sheeting. Cut out the pattern that I wanted and scratched in veins for the leaf before molding it into shape. Turned out pretty well. Can't wait to make more of these babies!!

Portfolio

Some artworks I have chosen for my portfolio. I have two interviews at different Universities in 3 weeks, may as well get stuff ready before then.

Shaved my Head

Went all out and shaved the bottom part of my head. My head hasn't been like this since I was two and lost all of my hair and it feels really funky. So happy I did it though. I finally feel like I can start to express myself how I want to now that school is over and done with.
Will be doing some other things once I get some money, maybe I'll colour it, but I don't know if I want to go black or a lighter colour like an ash blonde.  I think exploration with different hairstyles is a great way of gaining self confidence, do what you like and what makes you feel good and don't think back.

Hair!!

Thinking about something new to do with my hair, I'm getting a bit bored with how it currently looks, but I don't want it to be cut any shorter than it is now ( about 15 cm past my shoulders). I was thinking of maybe shaving the underside of my hair a bit. So that my hair is a lot lighter, thinner and looks different to anything I have had before.
Considering going back to black, hair colour wise. I mean I would love to put some fluorescent yellow in my hair but I am currently looking for work so black it is. Anyway I'll probably be doing this tomorrow after I go out to the mall to hand in my resumé to every possible place.

Formal

So my school formal was held well over a month ago. It was great, the food was nice, the music choices from the DJ were debatable and the after party was somewhat of a disappointment.

Catch up

Things that have been happening the past few months:

  • I went to more parties/outings than I have ever been to from the ages 12-16, which is kinda lame, but hey at least its a start and I don't feel as much as a social oddity anymore.
  • I graduated from highschool.
  • I'm almost finished my HSC exams.
  • I finished my major work in art (I'll post pictures once its returned to me from marking)
  • I dyed my hair back to brown/black.
  • I had my formal.
  • I stopped trying to please everyone by acting differently.
  • I gained like 10 kilos from stressing out about school.
  • I started working out to lose those 10 kilos.
  • I applied for University
  • Got my first car.
  • and a heap of other somewhat boring stuff but eh.

So that what's been happening to summarise.

All the peices are due in about 4 weeks and Im starting to get really nervous, hopefully I manage to be able to pull this all off and get decent marks for my HSC. I have another full painting to go. Plus the sculpture piece, which alone may take up at least 10 hours.EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

FORMAL DRESS ARRIVED!

So here's a itty bitty sneak peak of the dress. It's a Maggie Sottero dress, Im so happy to get it.  I ordered it from the U.S 5 days ago, and this afternoon when I came home from school it was waiting for me to try it on. Surprisingly I didn't even pay that much for shipping, so for it to come as quickly as it did it amazing!! Also fits like a charm. Sept 19th here I come.

Monday, June 11, 2012

My internet is back and working, So later I'll get to upload some stuff hopefully. I also bought my dress for my year 12 formal, its probably would get here in about a week.

New books!

So my mum picked me up from school and took me too this new bookstore that is selling books really cheaply. I bought two, demonstorm and elfsorrow from the legends of the raven series. I'll be sure to comment on them once I have read them. When I got home my mum decided to clean out the bookshelves, and found an old collection of my dads books. My dad gave me this about UFOS and stuff, going to give that a read as well. Going to be a fun week of reading books!!

....

I'm freaking out so badly. I may not show it to the people around me, but my mind is racing. Schools nearly over in a matter of almost 12 weeks. I have my yearlies and HSC trials next term, my BOW of work is due in 5 weeks, I'm so stressed out about it. I can't study to save my life. I'll sit down with a pen and paper and try right down the stuff I need to remember but after about 30mins I can't do it anymore. I'm going to fail chemistry because my teacher is lazy and gets us to learn of youtube videos every lesson (like that's going to help with anything) and Im going to fail math.

We just had a take home test for math and I honestly could not finish it, I know I have done the stuff in class but I just am unable to do it. I feel really bad and horrible, I do not want to fail my HSC, considering I need to get at least 80 in all my subjects ( Mathematics 2 unit, Advanced English, Biology, Chemistry and Visual Arts) to get to both of the Universities I'm applying to that have the course I want to study.

I want to do a Bachelor of Fine Arts/Arts and instead of 4th year honours, Im going to be doing secondary teaching.
I also need to find a job.
It's I don't know How Im going to do any of this.

Outffit + new piercing

Yo, so I got my vertical labret pierced by Simon yesterday at HHWH in Liverpool. Even though he is just starting out he did a fantastic job with it. I got lost on the train on the way there and ended up catching 4 different trains just to get to my destination. Never have done that before, was quite fascinating. There was this really attractive person on one of the trains on the way back to Blacktown, and surprise surprise, facebook later that evenin suggests that exact same person to add as a friend, not sure if that kinda of creepy, or just plain weird. Anyway, this is just a simple post. I'll be updating through the week on how my BOW is coming because it's finally coming together and I will make one big post about it by the end of the week.

Adventure time

Tomorrow I'm going to be trekking all over Sydney in hopes of finding a formal dress cheap enough, in case I can't get the one online. I'm also going to get pierced by my friend Simon. He's new to the piercing world so I thought, what the hell, give him some skin to practice on. So I'll be heading good ol' Liverpool way sometime throughout the day. I'm stuck on piercing choices. I always do this, as soon as I have made up my mind I get a crazy idea in my head and leap in the world of the unknown. This is going to be the first 'BIG' adventure by myself, and I'm lustfully excited about it all.

Auctions!

New Jewellery/mirrored cabinet that I picked up at the auctions for $20 (retail is $300). If Anyone is interested in auctions in Sydney, Penrith city auctions is a fabulous auction house that you can pick great stuff up for a reasonable price, just google them and you can find out more information!

Medieval Fayre!

So today there was a Medieval Fayre in my hometown. Not to far from where I live, so me and the family went. It was quite good, and it seem the whole town plus everyone else decided to come as well, you can see in one of the photos of the crowd that was watching the jousting competition. I picked up two cute items, one is a leather bound handmade writing book for $10 (seen at the top) the other is a metal bat necklace that I scored for $6. Overall it was a pretty good day.

Wax flowers!!

Posted this on facebook already, but its needs to be here too.
It took me 5 whole hours to make these two flowers made from wax. They are extremely brittle and delicate, so I don’t know how I’m going to go about making them safe on my artwork when they get sent off in August for marking. I have another 17 of these babies to make, then to spray paint them with black enamel and finish them off with silver leafing around the petals’ edges. It really is time consuming, but in the long run will be so worth it.

Body of work will consist of:
  • 7-9 paintings
  • 15 ‘melting’ wax clocks ( including motors so that they work)
  • 17 of these flowers
  • 1 carved/scratched/embossed aluminum sheet.

School, school and more school. This is really tiring. Tomorrow I have a meeting discussing about what Scholarships I can get. I need to apply before the end of this month, some require a Portfolio on a CD so I have to figure out how I'm going to go about that. School has a strike Friday 1st and 2nd period, so that means no school for me, and I miss out on two hours of art practical work that should be used toward my BOW, but nope they have to take away my lessons. Next Friday I have no school either 'cause of some carnival; this means 4 hours of practical time  have gone down the drain and I have to somehow figure a way to make that up. Tomorrow I have an update on the wax works + paintings as a whole, because I would appreciate peoples opinions on the progress

Fun!

spray painting in the backyard is always fun. I'm only just starting my sculpture piece to my body of work. It needs to by painted black before I can start to jigsaw pieces of it out. I'm doing in at home because If I did it at school they would get the wood work class to do it for me cause 'I have no idea what I'm doing' pfffft I can do it on my own thankyou. My hands are slightly spotted because it windy as at the moment, beautiful Autumn weather to be outside soaking up the sun.

Paint that Im using is Galmet metal protection, it technically is a paint made for use on metal BUT I love how glossy the finishing touch is on wood, so I'm using it regardless.

Help me pick!!

Okay so my yr 12 graduation formal is in September and I need a dress, these are the two I have picked out, I'm leaning more towards the aqua coloured on the right but I want another persons opinion on which one I'm going to possibly choose.

First layer

First layer of BOW painting #3 out of 7. its looking good so far, what do you guys think of it?

Bell Shakespeare

Saw this at the Opera House today, was quite amazing. The interpretation that they did of it was kind of freaky and fantastic, but I'm still confused as to why they made the fight scene between Macbeth and Mcduff sound like they were fighting with lightsabers. Anywho It was enjoyable, they are brilliant with their productions.

Amazing

Todays outfit

Had to go to the shops to get some stuff for my mum. So this is what I wore. I hate how overly conservative and judgmental the people in my town can be. I actually got asked today if I even had a brain to wear this. It bewilders me how some people can't seem to see past the fact that not every person is the same. Anywho. I got some cool stuff aswell. Bought some hair clips, guitar picks and captive beads, that are a pain to get in my ears.

Omamori Himari (おまもりひまり)

Okay so from now on I've decided to make regular anime/ manga posts that I recommend are good to watch.
Omamori Himari
genre: Action, Comedy, Demons, Ecchi, Romance, Harem, Supernatural
This is a pretty good anime if your into those kinds of genres. Its exceptionally easy to follow and has a great story line. I'm not going to go into detail because when It comes to anime I think it should be left as a surprise.
The manga on the other hand I have not of yet read. I'm in the need to go to the comic book store to pick up a few manga titles to start and finish the collections I already own.

timetable

Got my end of the year examination timetable and Found two colleges and one University that I’m going to apply to to try and do a 3 year Bachelor in fine arts/arts with a 4th year secondary teaching diploma. Trying to find suitable scholarships to apply for. Hopefully I can go to the college of fine arts (COFA) and exchange study one semester at Berlin University of the arts (Germany). All these application processes are so confusing :(

facebook

Made my facebook layout all colourful a stuff. I got bored of the normal blue/black/white scheme they had going in. It lags a bit, so I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is impatient with lagging. To change your layouts on facebook, tumblr, firefox and google chrome use this.

iPod syncing

Just added the whole discography to my iPod. I'm cleaning out my iTunes and re-labeling everything in their proper categories that they should be in finally. Everything that hasn't been sync to my classic is now. So far there's only 2705 songs on there. I'm just not bother transferring the other 2000+ songs from my other iPod onto this one. Ehh. Enjoy some tunage!!

shopping goodies

Yup bought some goodies at the mall.
  • oil paints for my BOW, I ran out of a few colours so I had to go buy some more of the stuff.
  • Fudge:paintbox, electric blue. Its the only colour that I have dyed my hair with more than once. I love it, it leaves my hair blue but with slight purple highlights in the sun.
  • Nordic: Okay so this is mostly the bleach I use to bleach my hair with (some times I use a blue powder and peroxide 30% ) and it tends to do the job I want it to, plus its relatively cheaper than most bleaches, doesn't kill or damage my hair either.
  • There's a new stall at the mall, and it sell costume jewelery and cosmetics and they have a giant selection of eyeshadows. The one I chose is a shimmery pink and is matte like in texture. I thought I'd give it a try.

Todays Outfit.

I bought I new skirt and I had to wear it somewhere, so I wore it to the auctions and shops. As you can see my hair is in a desperate need of a redye (also didn't bother to style it)  so I bought some stuff to do my hair later on.

skirt: Blue Jade
top: Pencils

Maademi Wasshoi (まじしゃんず あかでみい)

Probably the most random anime I have ever watched. I haven't quite yet caught onto the story line, but it's pretty funny. I'm gonna go watch some more and hopefully understand it.
