Massive DIY plan ahead.

Since getting my desk for my room I have been meaning to get a chair for it. I currently have a gas lift chair that I'm borrowing from another room in the house and its waaaaay to big for my room. I want to see if I can get a second hand wooden chair with padding on the base and on the back so that I can reupholster it with black velvet. I want to sand back the chair and add some extension on to it before painting it a colour, haven't decided what yet, I may just go for black to match with the velvet but I will see when I compare colour swatches and choose then. I'm really excited for this to start happening.

As for uni, all is going smoothly. I have already had my first assessment and test, and managed to pass on both. I have a major assigment coming up soon, so I should start planning what I will be doing soon so I don't get to far behind. I also get my iPad this week. Which means I will have something to be able to efficiently take notes with considering my laptops battery is broken and wont work without the charger BUHUH.

A vlog will be up sometime during the week.

New drawing

Tested out my new pencils! Im so happy to be drawing again, it took me so long to get back to the stage I comfortable with. Anyway this was done with Derwent Studio colours. It's a little off focus because I couldn't get a scanned copy on my computer.

Okay so I want to try out video blogging, they all be put here via youtube. I don't know what I will talk about or video so if you can, suggest me some things.

I reactivated my youtube account so I'll probably start having video posts here more often now

I stopped putting it off and finally bought myself a task, with my impending work load its seemed like the right time to do it. I had to depart with one of my bookshelves though to make room for it, just glad that its big enough to hold some of the stuff so I wont have to re-home those either.

Also since the last time I uploaded a picture of myself here my hair has grown quite a bit, I'm thinking of cutting my fringe again but maybe have it all layered, the bottom half is still shaved off so you can imagine how thick my hair would be if I still had it.

Progress

Got to get myself an actual HD camera. This is a progress shot of the siren painting that I'm currently doing. I haven't thought of a name, but there's a high chance that I might consider selling it when its completed. It's currently about 1/10 finished so there's still a lot more work to be done on it. So far I haven't had any major problems that I have had to fix. I'm excited to see what It will look like when I have completed it.

Uni

I have finished my first week of Uni. So far it seems really good, the work doesn't seem that hard and from what my teachers and lecturers are saying it seems that I'd be able to cope with the work that I would be doing so long as I focus, study and don't leave things to the last moment. I've met a few nice people already so I'm hoping that next week I'll get to know some more people and the place better. I'm excited!

YYum

Made Apple and Raspberry pie earlier today. It tasted amazing.

I want to eventually make the process into being a vegan so I would have to change this recipe a little in the future.

Anyway what I used was:

• Shortcrust pastry
• Apple and Raspberry puree 
• Maple syrup
• Whipped cream
• and mixed frozen berries.

Quite simple to make, so I recommend people try and make it if they like fruit pies. The rose with the leaf was the hardest part, trying to hold that together while letting it bake in the oven was a bit difficult but easily manageable.

Getting Older

So my birthday was on Friday and I'm now 18. To me that doesn't make much of a difference a part from it being legal to now go buy alcohol and go clubbing. I kept it pretty simple though, in the morning I went shopping with my mum and she bought me some clothes and shoes that I needed. Around lunch time my bestfriend Jessica came over my place and we watched The Rugrats Movie and caught up with everything. Around 6 Jessica and I headed out and met up with 2 of our other friends; Jessicas boyfriend and Jess no.2. We played two games of bowling, had dinner, a game of laser tag and a game of pool. I sucked the first in the first game of bowling, but made a comeback and one after a drink in the second round. Overall it was a pretty good day.

Catch up...

Start my uni classes in two weeks. It's all pretty exhilarating, I still do not know what to expect though. I'm hoping that either this week or the next I get some clothes that I can wear more comfortably there.


On a side note, I started a painting two days ago. I should be making a frame for it soon and once its dry and framed it will be uploaded here. That mightn't be for a while yet so I'll post something else to keep this blog active.
